Box Lacrosse
Box Lacrosse consists of 5 players + 1 goalie on each team and is played on smaller indoor playing surfaces (think hockey rinks)

Field Lacrosse
Field Lacrosse is played with 9 players + 1 goalie on each team, which similarly to soccer, are split evenly into attackers, midfielders and defenders. Girls Field Lacrosse is played with 11 players + 1 goalie, with the two additional players playing as extra midfielders. This is played outdoors on larger playing surfaces (think football fields)
