How screening works
Screening (CRC / Vulnerable Sector Screening)
All volunteers, bench personnel and trainers must provide a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) or complete an Offence Declaration each year.
- Best option (recommended): complete your check online via the OLA’s
Sterling BackCheck portal
for a fast, streamlined process.
- Alternative: apply through your local police service
(London residents: London Police — Record Checks).
- If you already have a CRC/VSS on file and it has not lapsed,
you only need to submit the annual Offence Declaration. You do not need a new full check.
- Send your result/Offence Declaration to the Registrar:
[email protected].
- Renew annually to remain eligible for volunteer/bench roles.
