What parents & players need to know for a smooth season

Mission & Philosophy

We provide a safe, welcoming environment that develops fundamental lacrosse skills, teamwork, and love of the game. Fun and fair play come first.

  • Inclusivity: Everyone plays, all season.
  • Development: Skills before scores; players rotate positions when appropriate.
  • Respect: Officials, opponents, teammates, facilities.
Code of Conduct & Zero Tolerance
  • Parents, spectators, and players must maintain respectful behaviour at all times—no abusive language or harassment.
  • Bench areas are for rostered players and certified bench staff only.
  • Discipline follows LMLA/OLA policies. Repeated issues may result in removal from a session or program.

See Policies & Forms for our full Code of Conduct & Zero Tolerance policy (OLA-aligned).

Equipment & Safety
  • Required: CSA-approved box helmet & facemask, mouthguard, gloves, arm pads, shoulder pads, athletic support, stick.
  • Goalies: Association gear may be available—ask the Equipment Director.
  • Label gear with player name; bring a filled water bottle.

Protective standards follow OLA rules. When in doubt, ask your coach or [email protected].

Season Structure & Weekly Rhythm
  • Typical window: Spring (exact dates posted on the Organization Calendar).
  • Weekly rhythm: ~1–2×/week (skills + local games) at Nichols Arena.
  • Divisions: U5 (SoftLax), U9, U11, U13, U15 (U17 subject to demand).

See Ages & Fees for current birth-year mapping and program fees.

  • Coaches strive for equitable opportunities in skills and game situations.
  • Communicate conflicts/absences early to help with fair rotations.

  • U5 (SoftLax): station-based, no formal games; focus on movement & fun.
  • U9: modified contact; emphasis on fundamentals and safe play.
  • U11–U15: standard house rules; officials enforce OLA modifications for age.

Complete rule set: see Policies & Forms (OLA documents).

Coach & Bench Staff Duties
  • Create a safe, positive environment; start/end on time.
  • Plan sessions with skill stations & small-sided games.
